The two-week summerschool comprises lectures, field work, excursions, lab work and exercises concerning different topics of Wadden Sea research and - of course - interactive discussions with the lecturers and other participants. In the first week the program is focused on geochemical/microbiological interactions in Wadden Sea sediments. The investigation of the water column and modelling are the main topics in the second week. We give all participants the opportunity to present their own research. On Saturday we offer a guided tour to the East-Friesian island Spiekeroog. On the free Sunday there is the opportunity to explore the lovely region on your own initative. The summerschool will close with a synopsis in Oldenburg. In short group presentations the participants will summarise the "lesson learned" during the last two weeks.
